More than 250 kilometres of highways in Saskatchewan will be improved thanks to funding from the provincial and federal governments. Approximately 259 kilometres of highway will be upgraded on highways 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 10,1 1, 14, 16, 33 and 39. Once the improvements are complete, they will keep drivers safe, improve traffic flow and boost trade to support the local economy. The Canadian government is providing $40.2 million dollars through the New Building Canada Fund and the Saskatchewan government is contributing $41.5 million dollars. Bernadette Jordan, Minister of Rural Economic Development says “with investments like these, our government is creating safer, and more fluid travel for people who travel on Saskatchewan’s highway network.”
