The challenge has been taken up and a Go-Fund-Me page has been launched to make Mac the Moose once again the tallest moose statue in the world. Corporate and private donations are already rolling in. Mac was dethroned by a silver statue constructed about 240 kilometres north of Oslo, Norway, by only 30 centimetres.

An endowment is in place for the upkeep of Mac the Moose and the city’s keepers of Mac say their first step is to consult with structural engineers to determine if the more than 30 year old statue can withstand alterations.

At a news conference held Monday, their top pick was revealed; have Mac the Moose shed his antlers and grow a new set. The general sentiment is that the most obvious answer to the dilemma of how to make Mac the Moose once again the tallest in the world is to have him take on a bigger rack.
