On Christmas day, SaskTel expects over 379 thousand calls to be made to and from home phones – or landlines – and that is just the tip of the iceberg with 850 thousand calls expected on Christmas Day via mobile devices. From Christmas Eve through Boxing day, wireless services are expected to see a surge with projections of wireless customers to send and receive well over 27 million text messages and place more than 2.55 million calls. That is nearly 3 times the number of texts and calls made on Mother’s Day.
