20 to 5 this morning (sat), the Saskatoon Fire Department responded to the area of 22nd Street and Avenue W after a passerby reported smoke in the area.
Once crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from a single family home at 216 Avenue W South.
The house appeared to be vacant and recently boarded shut.
Once crews opened the front door, fire began coming through the roof.
The fire was brought under control in just under 30 minutes.
A search of the home found no occupants.
No adjacent homes received damage and there were no injuries as a result of the fire.
Damage is estimated at $250 thousand dollars and the cause has yet to be determined.
