I talked a week ago about my personal distaste for Fox News on TV. It is my opinion that the behavior of their opinion hosts is disingenuous, meaning not honest or sincere, and deceitful by saying things that are misleading and deceptive to convince their viewers of falsehoods. One reaction that came in as a result of my talk on this subject was a listener asking why I say bad things about Trump but not about Trudeau? The listener figures it’s because of the “millions of dollars” Trudeau gives out to the media every year. Don’t I wish! The millions of taxpayer dollars handed out by the federal government goes to the CBC. We private broadcasters have to convince local businesses to buy advertising on our stations. That is our sole source of revenue. I don’t profess allegiance to a particular political philosophy. I have said that I have Conservative tendencies but I’m Liberal minded and have NDP sympathies. That sounds tongue-in-cheek but it’s true. I don’t recall slamming Harper when he was PM and I don’t take pot shots at Trudeau. There are enough others lined up to do that. I don’t take shots at Trump from a political standpoint. When I comment about him it has to do with his public character that comes across to me as egotistic, narcissistic, unintelligent and lacking manners and class. Another question I was asked was if I know what is the biggest business in the world? No I don’t actually. Apple? Amazon? Google? Facebook? Microsoft? Probably one of those.
That’s Coffeetalk. I’m Vic Dubois.
