You have been hearing the provincial government, for the last few weeks, say that anyone will be able to get a COVID-19 test.
According to the Saskatchewan government website testing is by referral only and walk-in testing is not available. In conjunction with that, addresses for specific COVID-19 Testing Sites and COVID-19 Assessment and Treatment Centres are given to the patient after a referral is made and testing is actually booked.
You can get a referral to be tested for COVID-19 by phoning HealthLine 8-1-1, or by contacting your family physician or your nurse practicioner. It was announced by the province’s Chief Medical Health Officer on May 14th that soon any Saskatchewan resident working outside the home will be able to be tested.
There are testing sites in 52 communities in Saskatchewan.
