The Saskatoon Fire Department responded to an accident early this afternoon where dispatchers were told 2 vehicles had collided, and one vehicle was smoking and had multiple occupants trapped inside.
The accident was at the intersection of Highway 11 and Grasswood Road just before 1:30 this afternoon.
The Fire Department says 2 people were trapped in an SUV on the highway and 1 person in a truck several metres away in a field was also trapped, but there was no smoke coming from either vehicle.
Firefighter-paramedics performed patient assessments and provided care while fire crews began the extractions.
They were able to get the person in the truck out through a rear door without the need of hydraulic tools.
The injuries were considered to be non life threatening.
