A polar vortex in February and March, along with a cooler than normal fall, pushed down average temperatures in Saskatchewan last year.
The average annual temperature in Saskatoon was 1.3 degrees below normal. It was similar across the province with average temperatures ranging between 0.7 and 1.8 degrees below normal.
Environment Canada reports Saskatoon was the 10th driest in 112 years of weather statistics. North Battleford was third driest and Yorkton fifth driest.
On the other hand, Estevan had its 15th wettest year since 1937. Swift Current and Moose Jaw also had more precipitation than usual.
