Saskatoon Police arrested a man early Saturday morning after a chase that took them out of the city.   It started around 2:30 am on Centennial Drive when officers say they saw a car speeding and when they tried to pull the sedan over the driver started driving erratically, accelerating even more. The car was followed, with help from the Air Support Unit, out of the city and after a spike belt was laid out, finally ground to a half at the gas station at the intersection of Highway 7 and 11th Street West.

Two people in the vehicle, a man and a woman, were arrested, however, the man was combative and officers say, eventually taken down by a police service dog.  No one was injured, a knife was seized from the vehicle, the woman was later released and not charged.  A 32 year old Saskatoon man was charged with Dangerous Driving, Evading Police, Driving While Disqualified, Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and Breach of Probation.
