The Western Development Museum in Saskatoon has installed an electric vehicle charging station in their parking lot.
Museum Manager, Jason Wall says the charging station is located in front of the outdoor blacksmith shop. He adds the new charging station is open to public to plug in and charge 24 hours a day, free of charge.
He says the museum is looking at ways of being efficient.
“One of the challenges the museum has is always finding how we can implement that, so with the new development of our parking lot, this is an addition that we thought, hey this is an opportunity for us to put in the new technology that would be a value added service to some of our patrons.”
Wall says they’ll keep an eye on the impact the charging unit will have on the museum’s expenses.
Wall adds the addition of the charging unit is one small way the museum can reduce their carbon footprint.
