A report going to the city’s transportation committee shows the traffic impacts on Saskatoon’s newest bridges. The report says the Chief Mistawasis Bridge sees an average of 9,900 vehicles a day, that’s well below the projected traffic numbers of 14,600 to 21,700 vehicles a day when the bridge first opened 13 months ago. The report says with the opening of north commuter bridge, that means approximately 10 thousand fewer vehicles are using the north Circle Drive Bridge. When it comes to the Traffic Bridge downtown, the City says around 12,000 vehicles use the bridge to cross the river daily, that’s exceeds expectations by a 1,000. City Councillors will take a closer look at the report at today’s transportation meeting which gets underway at 2 o’clock at City Hall.
