A Saskatoon company has been fined over $35 thousand plus a surcharge of over $14 thousand after pleading guilty to one count under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. The numbered company was charged after a worker sustained severe injuries when a combine tire fell off a forklift and struck the worker at a work site near Lloydminster on July 26th 2017. The charge involved being an employer and failing to ensure that only trained operators are required or permitted to operate powered mobile equipment, resulting in the serious injury of a worker.
