Saskatoon travellers will have another option to get to and from the airport beginning next week.
The Saskatoon Airport Authority which runs the John G. Diefenbaker Airport says they have agreed to a five-year deal with ridesharing company Rel8well.
CJ Dushinski with the airport says ever since ridesharing began in Saskatoon, they’ve been having conversations with different ridesharing companies, and she says they hope to announce more ridesharing companies coming to the airport in the upcoming weeks and months.
Ridesharing companies are free to set up their own prices, although all rides to and from the airport will be subject to the $2 dollar pick-up and drop-off fee that taxi companies have been paying for over the last few months.
Dushinski says it’s fantastic to have another safe option for people to get to and from the airport given that Saskatoon doesn’t have a train.
Travellers will be able to use Rel8well through its app to get rides to and from John G. Diefenbaker Airport.
June 24th will mark the first day of ridesharing service through Rel8well at the airport.
