Twenty-six days after being involved in a single-vehicle accident on a rural Saskatchewan highway, veteran Roughriders’ centre Dan Clark returned for his first full practice Sunday at training camp at Griffiths Stadium.
“It’s just one of those things…wrong place, wrong time,” explained Clark of the accident on May 7. “It was just a bunch of scratches. I got a C-T Scan…everything came back negative. X-rayed…everything came back negative. Really, the only thing I had that was holding me back from being on the football field was an impingement in my hip.”
“I don’t know just yet,” answered Riders’ head coach Craig Dickenson when asked about the possibility of the Regina product being on the field for Thursday’s pre-season home game against Winnipeg. “If he’s healthy, we’ll try to play him, but I’ve got to talk to with our offensive guys on that. He’s 100% healthy so he wouldn’t be not playing because he wasn’t healthy.”
Linebacker Solomon Elimimian wasn’t on the Griffiths Stadium turf Sunday as the Green and White returned to practice following Friday’s 37-1 pre-season loss in Calgary. However, running back and return specialist Christion Jones made his first appearance at Saskatchewan Roughriders’ training camp yesterday, as did the Green and White’s first round pick in the 2019 C-F-L Draft Justin McInnis.
The Green and White are back on the field at 9 for their second-last training camp workout in Saskatoon. Following is the training camp report from the Riders…..

QUOTE OF THE DAY
“It’s where I strive to be. At one point I thought I wasn’t going to be able to do it and a lot of doubt crept through my mind. I have a strong base that I need to continue to thank. My wife, my daughter, my son, my family that always stood behind me and supported me. I don’t have brothers and sisters, but this locker room is full of brothers that really stood behind me and made sure that I felt like I was a part of the team no matter what.”- Centre Dan Clark on coming back for full practice for the first time since his car accident
