A Zenon Park area beekeeper has gotten most of his bees back. About a week ago, approximately 150 bee colonies valued at 60 thousand dollars were taken from the property.
Carrot River RCMP say the theft of the bee colonies took place in a rural area southeast of the village sometime between 4 o’clock on the afternoon of May 10th and 11 in the morning on May 13th.
On May 19th, White Butte RCMP, which is based out of Regina, received a tip form the public regarding the location of the stolen bee colonies. RCMP say they and the owner were able to identify and recover the majority of the bees.
A 47 year old Arborfield man has been charged with theft over $5,000 and will be in Carrot River Provincial Court June 20th.
