Aidan Trading, Catalyst CM Limited, and representative Peter Jensen have been ordered to pay an administrative penalty of $25 thousand and have been permanently banned from trading in, or even giving advice in, securities or derivatives in the province. Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan issued the decision after determining that heating oil options had been offered for investment to a resident in Saskatchewan. The authority says they were derivatives and subject to securities legislation. It says the parties were not registered in Saskatchewan and shouldn’t have been trading or advising about securities or derivatives.
