Melfort RCMP can’t really release much information but are reporting two suspicious deaths on the James Smith Cree Nation. Officers responded just before 2:30 Thursday morning outside of a home on the Cree Nation and found two 19 year olds, a man and woman, dead. Police say the incident is not considered a risk to public safety. The Saskatchewan RCMP Major Crimes Unit South is conducting the investigation with assistance from the local Detachment and the Prince Albert Forensic Identification Section.
