A new suspect in an armed sexual assault case goes to court today. 20 year old Shawn Pasiechnik from Preeceville is in Yorkton Provincial Court facing charges that include break-and-enter, sexual assault with a weapon and forcible confinement.

RCMP allege that on December 18, 2017, a masked man with a gun forced his way into a home in Preeceville and sexually assaulted a woman. Police say the woman’s child was in the home at the time.

A man from Preeceville was arrested that day, but police say the charges he faced were stayed in late March and that further investigation determined he had no involvement in the case. (with files from CP)
