The financial and consumer affairs authority in Saskatchewan is reminding people about the rules when it comes to gift cards.
Officials say they receive an increase in calls and complaints about gift cards during the holiday season.
They say consumers are often concerned about usage limits and expiry dates.
The authority says gift cards bought and sold in Saskatchewan cannot expire and cannot have additional fees.
They also suggest using gift cards as soon as possible because their value cannot be recovered if the retailer goes out of business.
