Thousands are helped through the YMCA of Saskatoon’s annual Strong Kids fundraising campaign, to make sure all children have to opportunity to access its programs and services.
CEO Dean Dodge says the goal is to raise over $140-thousand so children and families and need can access things like YMCA swimming lessons, day camps, summer camps, day care, and schools out programs.
The Winter Wonderland kick-off is tomorrow at the YMCA on 22nd Street from 11 to 3 at $5 per family.
There is an enchanted forest scavenger hunt, pictures with Santa, crafts, an indoor snowball fight and a glow room dance party.
Dodge says for those who haven’t been to the Y in awhile, they can come check out the changes and for those who have never been, it’s a chance to see what the Y has to offer, along with helping out the Strong Kids campaign with the $5 admission.
Every year for the past few years, the need has increased, and has almost tripled from 6 years ago.
Dodge estimates close to 2-thousand people benefit each year from the Strong Kids campaign.
