Just before seven o’clock, Saskatoon Fire crews were sent to a scrap metal yard at 1520 17th Street west. They found a fire in a scrap pile. It took 20 minutes to bring it under control. The cause was accidental. Damage estimate is $5,000.

Then, around 10:20, crews were called to 1010 Denham Crescent where they found a fire burning in the floor joists and one pillar of an attached upper deck. The cause was determined to be accidental. The damage estimate is $50 thousand. The home was vacant at the time. There were no injuries in either fire.
