Legislation to clarify the rules around trespassing for rural property owners was introduced today (Tues) in the Legislature.
Amendments are being made to the Trespass , Snowmobile and Wildlife Acts.
Justice Minister Don Morgan explains that it moves the onus of responsibility from the land owner to those seeking to access their property.
If the Legislation passes, those wanting to access the land, whether it’s for snowmobiling, hunting or what have you, they will have to get permission first.
A government online questionnaire on this issue indicated 65 per cent were in favour of getting permission before accessing private property.
