There will be a battle this winter right over the prairies.
Saskatchewan will be the battleground for two large air masses, with above normal temperatures expected in western Canada and below normal temperatures to the east.
The Weather Network’s Winter Forecast indicates Saskatchewan will experience a bit of both.
Meteorologist Brad Rousseau expects that once you average out the daily temperatures, our winter on paper will seem about average but will actually be a fluctuation between cold and warm spells.
More specifically, the eastern edge of the province, including Regina, is more likely to see temperatures round out to about average and further west, Saskatoon is on the outer edge of a system that could bring warmer than normal temperatures, but Rousseau stresses that there will be fluctuations as the two systems battle it out.
Snowfall should be about average, except for the southwest corner of the province, which is expected to have less snow than the usual winter.
