A new Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations, SIGA and the Saskatchewan First Nations Safety Association.
The purpose of the MOU is to improve safety in First Nations communities and organizations.
President and CEO of SFNSA, Toby Desnomie says their engagement strategy is to take practices and operations in health and safety from organizations including SIGA and apply that information to other organizations.
FSIN Chief Bobby Cameron says the new MOU will also help make sure that all workers return home to their families at the end of their work day.
Desnomie adds that First Nations public safety and safety for all workers is important for all organizations.
