Those who won prizes in this year’s Hospital Home Lottery were handed their winnings and the keys to the grand prize show home Friday morning.
Howard Schemenauer of Lake Lenore won the $1.3 million dollar grand prize show home in Greenbryre.
Marguerite Graves from Saskatoon won the 50/50 add on prize of $327,325 dollars.
Graves says she couldn’t believe it when she received the phone call saying that she was the 50/50 winner.
Graves adds at first she thought it was a hoax but then couldn’t believe it that she won more than 327 thousand dollars once it became clear it wasn’t a hoax.
When spending time with her family Thursday evening, Graves’s family said her ipad was quite dated and so she figures that may be where she starts with her new winnings, updating her ipad. Schemenauer says he and his wife plan to spend the day in their new house but after that remains to be decided.
The money raised from the lottery will go towards buying new medical equipment and improving health care at Saskatoon’s three hospitals.
