On November 11th, 1918, Private George Lawrence Price of the Canadian Infantry, Saskatchewan Regiment, became the last Canadian Soldier to die in battle. He was killed two minutes before the Armistice was signed. On Saturday, Governor General Julie Payette will lay flowers on the tomb of Private Price during a Remembrance ceremony in Belgium. After paying homage to our soldiers’ efforts in the liberation of Europe, Payette will return to Canada for ceremonies in Ottawa on Sunday.
