Smoking, eating or cultivating cannabis will be banned in over 4,000 apartment units across Saskatchewan after legalization. Boardwalk is making its building pot-free. Director of Community development David McIlveen says the company feels smoking could create a nuisance in their multi-family buildings. McIlveen says they’re also worried about mould becoming a safety issue because of the moisture created by cultivation. The company could allow the smoking of medical marijuana on a case-by-case basis. About half of Boardwalk’s Saskatchewan units are in Saskatoon.
