A vaccinated animal is a happy, safe and healthy animal.
That’s the message from the Canadian Medical Association as Animal Health Week in Saskatchewan begins with the theme “Vaccines Save Lives.”
Agriculture Minister David Marit says it’s the same message for livestock producers and pet owners.
The CVMA lists 5 reasons to vaccinate:
They are safe and effective and can prevent illness.
They protect everyone, because diseases that are prevented cannot be passed on.
Vaccinations are an important part of annual health exams.
They are tailored to each animal based on breed, age, overall health and disease-exposure risk and vaccinations can help avoid costly treatments for preventable diseases.
