Canada’s first commercial urban reserve is celebrating 30 years in Saskatoon.
The Muskeg Lake Cree Nation and its partnering businesses came out to mark the occasion with a ground breaking ceremony Thursday for a new 50,630 square feet building that will become the new home of SIGA’s head offices.
The Muskeg Lake Cree Nation urban reserve will officially celebrate 30 years on Tuesday and the urban reserve is a collaboration with its business partners and the City of Saskatoon.
The reserve located east of the Sutherland neigbourhood is home to the FSIN’s headquarters, a gas station and other businesses including doctor’s offices.
The new development will also provide over 6200 square feet for SIGA’s new Slot Management program.
Construction of the two-story building is underway and completion of the facility is expected for late 2019.
