The Saskatoon Blades chipped their roster down to 28 players late Wednesday afternoon by dealing 17-year-old forward Logan Doust to Victoria for a ninth round pick in the 2019 Bantam Draft…as well as a conditional fifth round selection in 2019.
Doust was in a battle for a fourth-line spot on the Bridge City Bunch roster. His departure leaves the Blue and Gold with 28 players, including 16 forwards. On Thursday, Saskatoon is home to Regina in pre-season play at 7 at SaskTel Centre. The first broadcast of Blades’ hockey on 98-COOL begins at 6. Following is the news release from the Blades…

Saskatoon, SK – The Saskatoon Blades have completed a trade with the Victoria Royals sending 2001 born forward Logan Doust to the island in exchange for a 2019 9th round draft pick and a conditional 2019 5th round draft pick.
Doust was originally drafted by the Blades in the 9th round of the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft. A native of North Vancouver, Doust appeared in four pre-season games this fall and three regular season games last season with Saskatoon. The 17-year-old forward spent last year with the Vancouver North West Giants of the British Columbia Major Midget League where he posted 16 points in 20 games. Through 9 pre-season and 3 regular season games in the WHL, Doust has yet to register a point.
Saskatoon’s pre-season roster now sits at 28 players; 16 forwards, 9 defensemen, and 3 goaltenders.
