The RCMP will honour its fallen members tomorrow (Sun) with its National Memorial Service at the Academy in Regina.
The annual service honours regular members, special constables, auxiliary constables and civilian members who have lost their lives in response to a policing duty where there was an element of life-threatening risk.
This year, the name of Constable Francis Bertrand Deschenes will be added to the RCMP Cenotaph, Honour Roll Book and Memorial Wall.
Constable Deschenes died when a vehicle hit him while he was helping motorists on the Trans Canada Highway in New Brunswick on September 12th of last year.
That brings the total number of fallen members to 239 since the created of the North-West Mounted
