Saskatchewan Teacher’s Federation’s President Patrick Maze knows teachers could be doing more for students. But with an arbitration ruling on their pay still to come and a rising student population, there’s a lot affecting them. Maze says teachers are cautiously optimistic about this school year, hoping that government comes through with better supports that have been promised in the past but have yet to substantially appear. Premier Scott Moe said last week the province will accept the arbitrator’s ruling on what teachers should be paid.
