Sunday at 4:30 in the morning the Battlefords RCMP responded to a complaint at the Union Hospital of a 26 year old woman who was the victim of a violent assault.
The victim was unconscious and received medical treatment to help her condition before being transported to Saskatoon for further treatment.
The 26 year old woman remains in hospital in serious but non-life threatening condition.
Jay Shia is currently wanted by the Battlefords RCMP for assault causing bodily harm.
The warrant for Shia extends to Alberta and B.C.

Shia is a 30 year old man, 5 foot 7, 140 pounds with a medium build, black short hair, brown eyes and he has a ring piercing on his lower lip on the left side.
He was last seen wearing jeans, a heavy jacket with a white design on the back and fleece sweater underneath.
