City Council is set to discuss lending $22.8 millions to two major projects with the first project being a request from the Friends of the Bowl, the group in charge of developing the Gordie Howe Sports Complex, for $10 million dollars. The second project is for a new waste cell and recovery point at the landfill. The City is asking to borrow up to $12.8 million dollars for the project and hoping to receive $3 million dollars in funding from the federal government. However if that doesn’t pan out, the city may borrow $12 million dollars. The loans are to be discussed at tonight’s public hearing which gets underway at City Hall at 6 p.m.
