Back in May, Yorkton RCMP conducted a traffic stop and found several drugs inside the vehicle. Analysis by Health Canada has revealed that those drugs were heroin and various derivatives of fentanyl. This has caused RCMP to issue a warning about the dangers of taking illicit drugs which are often represented as one thing but can also contain lethal doses of substances such as fentanyl. The Saskatchewan Health Authority advises users to not use alone and, in the event of an overdose, to have a life-saving naloxone kit nearby. As for the vehicle police stopped, 50 year old Linda Becker and 29 year old Frederick Charles Severight, both of Yorkton, face multiple drug charges, among others.
