Saturday evening just before 8:30, a Saskatoon Police member spotted a stolen vehicle in the 20th Street and Avenue N area. Given a number of safety concerns, a pursuit was not initiated.
A short time later the officer spotted the vehicle in a parking lot and the two occupants, 1 man and 1 woman fled on foot.
The woman was arrested after a brief foot chase while a K9 track was called in to track the man. The search with the K9 was successful and the man was arrested a short time later and received minor injuries from a dog bite.
A search of the vehicle lead to the recovery of a shotgun and bear spray.
While the officer was searching the car, an uncapped needle poked him.
The officer then went to the hospital for medical treatment.
A 42 year old man and a 18 year old woman face multiple charges including possession of stolen property.
Both will appear in front of a Justice of the Peace Sunday.
