The RCMP officer whose firearm was stolen from inside an unmarked police vehicle overnight on Thursday has been temporarily assigned to administrative duties while an internal review is conducted.
The RCMP will be looking into the circumstances that lead up to and contributed to the firearm theft.
The 9mm Smith & Wesson is silver with a black grip and has an RCMP image etched on the side.
The gun and ammunition were stolen from the car while it was parked at a business in Saskatoon.
The Saskatoon Police Service is investigating the theft. This fuzzy image is the suspect from this incident.
