The construction on Circle Drive on the 33rd Street overpass is ahead of schedule and is completed.
The work is five weeks ahead of schedule and barring weather issues or unforeseen circumstances, crews will be removing the barriers and lifting the traffic restrictions this weekend. The work got underway on July 3rd and was expected to take place until mid-September.
Todd Grabowski, Manager of Asset Prevention for Bridges says the near perfect weather and that no major issues were detected accelerated the work.
The project included asphalt removal and replacement, concrete repairs, applying a waterproof membrane and the removal and replacement of expansion joints.
