An Olympic sport is ready to hit the streets of downtown Saskatoon!

Three-on-three basketball will be a medal sport at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo. Starting Saturday, the second Saskatoon Masters tournament will be held at the intersection of 21st Street and 4th Avenue. It’s the first of nine stops on the F-I-B-A 3-on-3 World Tour. Twelve teams are taking part, including Team Saskatoon…ranked ninth in the world. Michael Linklater, Michael Lieffers, Steve Sir and Nolan Brudehl make up Team Saskatoon. Games go Saturday and Sunday, starting at 12:30. Team Saskatoon plays round-robin games Saturday at 3:15 against Montreal and at 5 o’clock versus Riga, Latvia.
