The visually impaired want the same employment opportunities as anyone else. That’s the reason the CNIB in Saskatoon is conducting this week’s “Employment Boot camp”. In addition to giving clients assistance with their resumes and interview skills, the CNIB wants to let employers know the visually impaired are just as capable as sighted workers. The organization’s Christall Beaudry calls the boot camp a first step. The camp includes mock interviews with 13 employers from around the province. The CNIB says the employment rate for visually impaired Canadians is 38-per cent compared to 73-per cent for people without disabilities.
