There were no fatalities or serious injuries reported after a Via Rail train derailed early this morning (Thurs) north of Hudson Bay in the northern provincial forest.
The Saskatchewan Health Authority says all those on board the passenger train received medical attention and none of the injuries were considered life threatening.
Twenty-one people were transported to the Hudson Bay Health Centre and all have been assessed, treated for their injuries and discharged.

RCMP say the train derailed just after 2 this morning, 37 kilometres north of Hudson Bay.
Emergency crews responded, but there was no direct road access so they arrived by rail.
The Transportation Safety Board says the Winnipeg-to-The Pas train hit a washout and although Via can’t confirm that, it does say there had been flooding in the area.
Environment Canada reported yesterday that Hudson Bay area received over 55 millimetres of rain. (with files from Canadian Press)
