On Halloween Saturday, the treats were for the Thunderbirds while the trick was on the Blades.

In a game that both teams felt as though they needed to win, Seattle out-lasted Saskatoon 5-4 in overtime before 3,674 fans at SaskTel Centre. Noah Kosick scored a power play goal in O-T, allowing the T-Birds to finish their East Division road trip with two wins in six games. The Bridge City Bunch were a minute away from extending their home-ice winning streak to five games, only to have Matthew Gard notch the tying goal and force extra time. Combined with Kosick’s overtime winner, the Blue and Gold finished the month of October on a four-game winless streak – two regulation and two O-T setbacks. Hunter Laing scored twice for the 6-5-3 Blades, who out-shot Seattle 48-28. Former Thunderbird Kazden Mathies had a goal and two assists for Saskatoon while Cooper Williams added the other tally. Defenceman Josh Fluker registered an assist while Koen Cleaver stopped 23 shots in the Bridge City Bunch net in their respective Blue and Gold debuts. The Blades’ next action is a Friday home game against Calgary.
