Bring on the Portland Winterhawks and their recent domination – now that the Saskatoon Blades have put an end to their 12-game winless skid, head-to-head, against the Everett Silvertips!

Hayden Harsanyi (pictured) scored the deciding goal in Round 5 of the shootout, giving the Bridge City Bunch a 3-2 triumph over the Tips – the Blue and Gold’s first win over the Silvertips since October 14, 2011, in Everett. It was the Blades’ first win at home over the Tips since December 10, 2010 – as they out-scored the Tips 3-2 in the penalty shot contest.

Harsanyi added a goal in regulation time for Saskatoon, now 6-3-1 for the season. Cooper Williams also tallied for the Bridge City Bunch, who never led in the game, despite out-shooting the Silvertips 36-33. The Blue and Gold have now won four straight games at home, the latest SaskTel Centre triumph coming before 2,785 fans. The Blades are winless in their last six contests against Portland, the last victory coming on December 3, 2017 at the Moda Center. Saskatoon now hits the road for three games in Alberta – Friday in Edmonton, Sunday at Calgary and a Tuesday visit to Red Deer. Following are the audio highlights from CJWW’s broadcast, Post-Game Show conversations with head coach Dan Da Silva, Harsanyi and Williams, as well as my first intermission interview with Everett General Manager Mike Fraser.
