The Saskatchewan government is expanding its partnership with Roadways Literacy Academy in Saskatoon, providing increased funding and formally recognizing the school as an Alternative Independent School beginning in the 2026-27 academic year.

According to a news release from the Province, under a new service agreement with the Ministry of Education, Roadways Literacy Academy will receive 403-thousand dollars this school year, an increase of 175-thousand dolars over previous funding levels. The province has also committed up to one-point-five-six million dollars through March of 2029 to support literacy programming and intensive services for students with learning disabilities.

Education Minister Everett Hindley says the investment reflects confidence in the school’s literacy-focused approach and will help more students develop foundational reading skills. The announcement builds on a student literacy pilot program launched in partnership with Prairie Spirit School Division and Roadways Literacy Academy in 2024.

Roadways Literacy Academy serves students in Grades 1 through 10 and specializes in supporting children with specific learning disabilities and literacy challenges.
