Food trucks, music, dancing, and a stunning display of fireworks are in store this weekend as part of Nutrien’s annual fireworks festival in Saskatoon.  

Shad Ali with On Purpose Leadership says the firework shows on Friday and Saturday are totally unique, and are both pyro-musicals, or choreographed to music.  

However, there is so much more than just fireworks to be seen. Ali says the food trucks alone are worth making the trip out for. 

“It’s like travelling the world when you come down there, cause of the food trucks. We got India, we got Japan. We got Mexico. You name it, it’s down there. Filipino, Africa…”  

Ali says there will also be a lineup of entertainment and activities, including music from The Steadies, cultural entertainment, and dance.  

“The Pumphouse Platform is going to have line dancing, different kinds of dances actually, yoga, spinning, you name it.”

He says everything at the festival is free to the public, with the exception of any food and drink that you buy. 

Fireworks start Friday and Saturday at 9:30. Traffic detours will be in place around river landing.
