A truck was spotted driving aggressively westbound on 33rd Street near Avenue I North around 9:20pm. As officers pulled up to the vehicle, it fled at a high rate of speed. The plane tracked the vehicle until a man left the truck and ran away at Massey Drive and Confederation Drive. A 42-year-old man was arrested a short time later. He has been charged with dangerous driving, evading police, possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.
The second incident occurred just before 2am on Monday while police attempted to stop a vehicle at Avenue R and 20th Street. The vehicle did not stop and went through multiple red lights. A tire deflation device was used at 33rd and Idylwyld Drive, with the vehicle finally coming to a stop near the 51st Street offramp. Two people tried to run away, but were arrested.
A 32-year-old woman is charged with dangerous driving, evading police, possession of property over $5,000 and breaching court-imposed conditions. A 28-year-old man is also charged with possession of stolen property.
