It’s my Parting Shot for T-F-P and his Week 12 C-F-L picks…..
Well, that was a gut punch last week! I missed on all four games as I had the wrong road team winning or the wrong home team winning – however you want to look at it – but Calgary at home, Ottawa with an upset, Toronto and Saskatchewan on the road were all wrong!! Goodness, I need a bounce back…
…starting with Ottawa at Montreal tonight. The Alouettes have won eight straight and are coming off a bye and are at home. The RedBlacks have yet to win in nine outings. They hang in for a while before falling apart with mistakes. I’ve learned my lesson from last week, don’t pick an Ottawa upset, but Montreal will only win by less than a field goal!
Tomorrow, it’s Winnipeg at Edmonton. Will the West Division standings get even tighter? Or, might the Elks put some space between themselves and the rest of the group? You’ll understand why I have the second option after my Sunday prediction as I’m going with Edmonton by less than a touchdown!
On Saturday, it’s the Q-E-W battle with Hamilton at Toronto. This is the game that is a head scratcher for me as both teams have four wins, with the winner moving into sole possession of second place in the East Division. And, both are as inconsistent with their play as you can find in the league. I’m going with the Tiger-Cats by less than a field goal!!
That leaves Sunday and the Roughriders at B-C. The Lions have a healthy Nathan Rourke at quarterback and have won three straight while Saskatchewan let a game get away from them in Hamilton for a variety of reasons – one of which wasn’t Alex Hale’s place-kicking! The Leos are looking like a team that was picked by many before the season started to be a threat to win it all! They’ll make it four straight by more than a field goal over the Green and White!
Last week’s on-and-four was a big shot to the solar-plexis for my season-long record, now at 22-and-20 – or 52-point-four per cent! It’s a long road back towards 60, I now fear! But, we never quit – even though you might on me!!
