A two-hour RCMP search has led to the arrest of an impaired driver in Lloydminster.
On Tuesday at 1 a.m., RCMP received a complaint of a suspected impaired driver. Members attempted to stop the vehicle on Highway 16 on the east side of the city, but the driver fled the scene.
Officers were eventually forced to used a tire deflation device in an effort to bring the vehicle to a stop. However, the driver somehow continued to flee, so a tactical vehicle was used to make contact to stop the vehicle. One police vehicle was rammed by the suspect vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Now, 25-year-old Taylor Burke from Medicine Hat was arrested and faces four charges.
He has since been remanded into custody, and he is to appear before the Saskatchewan Provincial Court in Lloydminster on Aug. 24.
