The Government of Saskatchewan’s most recent oil and gas public offering generated $4.5 million, with bids in the Lloydminster area earning the highest amount.
The offering was held on August 11 and saw 37 bids for leases and four exploration licences. There was nothing posted in the Swift Current area during this offering.
The bids covered 9,905 hectares across the Estevan, Lloydminster, and Kindersley areas.
The Lloydminster area generated $1,643,563 in revenue.
The Estevan area and Kindersley area brought in $1.4 million each. The Kindersley area also saw the highest bid, made by Synergy Land Services Ltd. The company offered $1,015,635, or $434 per hectare, for a 2,336 hectare property south of Eatonia.
The Estevan area saw the highest bid for a lease by Saturn Oil & Gas Inc.. The company offered $318,934, or $706 per hectare, for a 451-hectare site west of Bengough.
The next offering is scheduled for October 6.
