The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit has charged two people who were taken into custody in connection to the stabbing death of Daina Gauthier.

Officers were dispatched at 1:55 a.m. Thursday to a report of a stabbing in the unit block of 14th Street East and located the 27-year-old woman with serious injuries.

Officers provided first aid until Parkland Ambulance arrived. Gauthier was transported to hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.

A 16-year-old male and a 15-year-old female have each been charged with Second Degree Murder.

Both youths have been remanded in custody and are scheduled to make their first appearance in Prince Albert Provincial Court next Tuesday.

The Prince Albert Police Services says there are no outstanding persons of interest in relation to this investigation, and no additional charges are anticipated.
